Have you ever had a day where you felt super busy, and yet at the end of the day you look back and think, “I didn’t get anything done.”

It’s so easy to get caught up dealing with whatever crises arise during the day that you end up postponing the work you had actually planned. Or you may have a calendar full of meetings, with no time to get any of the work done.

By laying out your priorities, and starting with one high-priority goal, you ensure that you win the day. Regardless of what happens (or doesn’t happen) after, you have gotten important work done. And progress on your important priorities will start to compound, and you’ll slowly build momentum towards achieving so much more than if you had just dealt with what the day threw at you.

Give it a try – lay out your to-do list, and pick the one item that, if you got it done, you would feel the day is a success. You’ll be surprised how much better you feel at the end of the day.

In this book, Make Time, Jake Knapp and John Zeratsky challenge you to shift away from the busyness and distraction and devote more time to you highest priorities. You make time for what’s important and shun whatever is not, allowing you to get more done in your workday and get more satisfaction from what you’re doing.

Similar to challenging your approach to work, one thing we strive to do with this blog is challenge your definition of wealth. I want you to expand wealth beyond just money, to include the wealth you can accumulate in relationships, health, and happiness.
