What is it that truly makes you happy? As demonstrated by this quote, as much as we can long for and dream for material possessions, they will never fill the void in you.
The unfortunate reality is that we live in a consumer society. What this means is that companies prey on our deepest desires to sell us things. They sell us on the idea that owning the fancy car will make you happy. Or wearing their clothes will bring you relationships. But deep down we know that’s not true. Regardless, I still find myself succumbing to this messaging, and seeing this quote from Justin Baldoni helps bring me back to reality.
In his book, Man Enough, Justin Baldoni challenges what it means to be a man. He challenges the media depiction of what a man should be, and shares his journey of redefining his masculinity. This book really challenges your internal definitions, and as outlined by the quote above, it can ground you in what’s truly important.
Similar to challenging masculinity, one thing we strive to do with this blog is challenge your definition of wealth. I want you to expand wealth beyond just money, to include the wealth you can accumulate in relationships, health, and happiness.
