What defines bravery is not the absence of fear, but rather the actions you take in the face of fear.
Justin Baldoni is highlighting that the feeling of fear does not mean that you cannot be brave. Both the feeling of fear and bravery can exist at the same time. In fact, I would even argue that overcoming the fear to take action is what defines what you’re doing as brave.
Next time you feel fear, don’t let that prevent you from being brave. Use it as an opportunity to practice your bravery and overcome your fear.
In his book, Man Enough, Justin Baldoni challenges what it means to be a man. He challenges the media depiction of what a man should be, and shares his journey of redefining his masculinity. This book really challenges your internal definitions, and as outlined by the quote above, it can ground you in what’s truly important.
Similar to challenging masculinity, one thing we strive to do with this blog is challenge your definition of wealth. I want you to expand wealth beyond just money, to include the wealth you can accumulate in relationships, health, and happiness.
