This concept of the space between stimulus and response is common when it comes to being in control of your emotions. You can’t control what happens in your life, but you can control how you respond to it. The key is to recognize that you have this control.

Lori Gottlieb shares the story of a therapists experiences with her patients, while simultaneously seeing a therapist to deal with her own struggles. It’s a great read, and has lots of quotes like the above that will challenge your thinking.
